NATIONWIDE SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME OF NALAG MEMBERS ON THE REFERENDUM

The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) as part of its mandate engaged the relevant stakeholders to have a buy-in into the referendum of 17th December to give way for meaningful changes to take place for the political parties to be part of the local level elections, had a nationwide sensitization programme from the 4th to 27th November, 2019 across all the Regions in the country.

The nationwide sensitization workshop and capacity building of the membership of NALAG and Key Stakeholders went a long way to ensure that the over nine thousand (9000) members are not only sensitized but also equipped with the necessary information to also engage other citizens within their communities on the upcoming referendum and subsequent election of the MMDCEs.

This programme afforded the Association the opportunity to clear doubts, fears and misunderstanding surrounding the referendum process and by extension whip up public interest in the upcoming local level elections for higher turnout.
