The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) hosted its 20th Biennial National Delegates Conference from 12th to 15th June, 2019 at Tyco City Hotel, Sunyani in the Bono Region of Ghana.
The 3-day conference, which ended on Friday June 14, 2019 is on the theme, “Ghana beyond aid; a paradigm shift for sustainable development, the role of local authorities, was attended by over 1500 participants from Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country, Local and International Partners, Private Companies, Non-Governmental Organizations, Various Government Agencies, and Stakeholders across the globe.
The National Delegates Conference is the supreme decisions-making body of the Association. It consists of five (5) delegates from each District Assembly (one of whom shall be a woman for Affirmative Action) and the members of the National Executive Council. The National Delegates Conference is held biennially. It is the organ that sets the broad policy agenda of the Association for implementation by the National Executive Council and the Secretariat.
