Structure of the Govering Bodies


The governing organs of NALAG are structured on a three-tier system as follows :

THE NATIONAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE is the supreme decision- making body of the Association. It consists of five (5) delegates from each District Assembly in Ghana and the National Executive Council. The five (5) delegates are made of the Presiding Member, District Chief Executive and three (3) other delegates from each District Assembly two of whom shall be elected members of the Assembly, one and appointed member and at least one of whom shall be a woman.

The National Delegates Conference is held biennially. It is the organ that sets the broad policy agenda of the Association for implementation by the National Executive Council and the Secretariat.

THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (NEC) is the governing body of the Association and is elected at the Regional and National Delegates Conferences.

  • The National Executive Council comprises:
  1. The President
  2. 1st Vice President
  3. 2nd Vice President
  4. The National Treasurer
  5. 2 Trustees
  6. Women Caucus Representative
  7. Ten Regional Representatives
  8. Immediate Past Executive

THE NATIONAL SECRETARIAT is the administrative organ of the Association and is headed by a General Secretary (GS), appointed by the National Executive Council (NEC).
