National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG)


Membership of the Association is on corporate basis. All District Assemblies created under the Local Government Act 1993 (ACT 462) and other subsidiary legislations are members of NALAG. By implication, every assembly member becomes automatic member of NALAG after the inauguration of the assembly.

NALAG works to achieve its objectives through

  • Full Membership - Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana.
  • Associate Membership - Associations, institutions and organisations whose work contribute to the development of local government administration and service delivery.
  • Honorary Membership - Individuals who have contributed to the development and advancement of good local governance in Ghana.
